Snowdrop engine for Massive Entertainment

A scalable open-source solution to boost awareness and recruitment.

As a result of the exponential growth of AAA game development, Massive Entertainment created The Snowdrop Engine with the specific need in mind to do things better, not bigger. Snowdrop is a game-agnostic engine, developed to become a future-proof piece of technology, and has been used to create games like “Tom Clancy’s The Division”, “South Park: The Fractured but Whole”, “Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle”, and “Starlink: Battle for Atlas”.

With a strong, first-class engine like Snowdrop, Massive Studio creates value for their customers and increases the possibilities for future projects. Therefore, Massive needed a simple, high-quality website to help increase internal and external awareness about Snowdrop and its potentials. Another goal was to generate more traffic to their career site for recruitment.

The solution.

With a team of two web developers and a visual designer, kickstarted the project with two design workshops – one for problem framing, and one solution-oriented. Through close collaboration, a strong, scalable website was successfully launched within a short time frame.

Together with Jayway (now Devoteam Creative Tech), we have created a site that we are incredibly proud of. Despite the extremely short deadline we had, the team at Jayway worked with an agile mindset and understood our needs, they included us in the process to ensure that we were involved in all the different stages. Through clear feedback processes, we never had to go back but managed to create a page with everything we wanted. Jayway did not only show that they understood our reality but also contributed to very important design thinking and they also had an incredible ability to develop.
